Launched in 2003, AcademyHealth's Long-Term Care Colloquium series provides a unique forum for exploring the most important issues facing long-term care consumers, providers, policymakers, and researchers. For the sixth colloquium, possible topics include: the development and impact of home- and community-based services, pay-for-performance demonstrations, end-of-life care, and international models of long-term care delivery. In the coming year, colloquia staff will reach out to consumer groups, such as the National Family Caregivers Alliance, to help the public become better informed about the implications of current long-term care policy and future directions. With the colloquium now firmly established, Fund support will be substantially reduced in future years as AcademyHealth identifies additional cofunders. For year 6, AcademyHealth will contribute cofunding in the form of registration fees.
