Several states have managed to reduce their uninsured rates considerably over the last decade by employing a mix of public- and private-sector strategies. Armed with federal planning grants, many of these states are now developing approaches to achieve near-universal coverage. This project will study and profile these states' plans and monitor their progress. Case studies and reports based on the analysis will be of great use to federal and state policymakers seeking to improve coverage through better integration of piecemeal reforms.
