The Commonwealth Fund Task Force on the Future of Health Insurance is exploring ways to extend health insurance coverage to uninsured working Americans and their families. In the past year, the Task Force released a series of 10 reports describing various options for incremental insurance reform and prepared five other papers examining issues related to workforce health coverage. In addition, Sherry Glied provided data analysis for Fund and Task Force work. In the year ahead, Glied and her team will evaluate additional policy options and prepare several analytic papers on key policy issues and emerging trends. They will also continue to provide the Task Force with the capacity to evaluate the costs and coverage potential of new insurance expansion proposals for U.S. workers. The information produced through these activities will inform state, local, and congressional leaders as they consider new programs and policies to expand health coverage.
