Eric Schneider, M.D., M.Sc., is an assistant professor in the department of health policy and management at the Harvard School of Public Health and an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Schneider conducts health services research on the quality of health care with projects focused on measurement methods in quality and safety, the impact of public reporting of performance results, and the role of organization, financing, and socioeconomic factors including race and ethnicity on the quality of care. As a general internist, Dr. Schneider has conducted research on the quality of colorectal cancer screening and other preventive services, diabetes, asthma, depression, colon cancer, and breast cancer. He has collaborated widely, working with organizations such as the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), RAND, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Dr. Schneider received his M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, his M.Sc. from tge University of California, Berkeley, and his B.S. in Biology from Columbia University.
